They will only open a page
Support, a sales call, family overseas, or a one-off collaboration. One link is enough. No account and no install.
A temporary room, no account
Nothing to install and no account to create. Text, voice, video, and files share one room.
Send the link. The other person opens it and joins. After the tab closes, the messages and files cannot be retrieved.
The room code is not a secret · Long-term rooms can add a 4–6 digit PIN · Chat and files are not kept on the server
How it works
A room opens from a public short link. If the other person is offline, the file cannot be collected later.
Open italk.to and create a room. You receive an 8-digit code, or you choose a name of 2–20 characters. The first character cannot be a digit. Chinese is allowed, as in italk.to/天流亭.
Pick a nickname before joining. A long-term room can require a 4–6 digit PIN. The same browser is the same person on return. A private window is a new participant.
Text, voice, video, and files move only among people in the room at that moment. With exactly two people and a direct connection, text and files go browser to browser first. Once someone leaves, the file cannot be fetched.
In the room
When it fits
Support, a sales call, family overseas, or a one-off collaboration. One link is enough. No account and no install.
Keep both pages open to send a file, up to 96 MB. Close the tab and the server does not keep that file. It is the wrong tool for upload now, download tomorrow.
An interview, a lesson, or a single walkthrough. The call and the chat share the page. Up to 32 people can be online together.
A link such as italk.to/天流亭 can stay posted. Make the room long-term and add a PIN so the link alone is not enough. A room closed for more than 7 days, or idle for 90 days, is removed.
What this is
The room code is not a secret. An 8-digit code can be tried, so a room you keep should have a PIN. Rate limits see IP addresses, and the same browser is treated as the same device. The server does not store message text, audio, video, or file bytes. It does keep room details such as the code and nicknames. italk.to is not connected to iTalkGo accounts, friends, or groups.
